Prophecy of Boaz and Ruth Lesson 3

Paradigm of King David

Yeshua is the King, son of King David!  The magi from the east ask King Herod “where is the One who is born King of the Jews?” Matthew 2:2. This fulfills the prophecy from
Isaiah 9:6,
“Of the increase of HIs government and shalom
there shall be no end---on the throne of David
and over his kingdom--to establish and uphold it
through justice and righteousness
from now until forevermore.”

Yeshua had come to bring salvation to Israel and then to the nations. During His brief time of miracles and teaching, the Israelites saw the miracle of dividing the loaves and fishes and wanted to make Yeshua King. John 6:14-15,

When the people saw the sign that Yeshua performed, they began to say, ‘This is most certainly the Prophet who is to come into the world’ Realizing that they were about to come and seize Him by force to make Him King, Yeshua withdrew again to the mountain, Himself alone.”

Yeshua could not be the King Ben David until He had finished his death on the cross and had risen from the dead.  Yeshua had to become the Kohen Gadol (High Priest) first. Hebrews 9:11-12,

“But when Messiah appeared as Kohen Gadol of the good things that have now
come, passing through the greater and more perfect Tent not made with hands
(that is to say not of this creation), He entered into the Holies once for all--not by the blood of goats and calves but by HIs own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.”

Yeshua is coming again and this time as King Ben David. We are in those days awaiting the return of the King Yeshua and the restoration of the Temple and kingdom of heaven on earth. Paul wrote to Timothy, 2 Timothy 2:8,

“Remember Yeshua the Messiah, raised from the dead, from the seed of David---according to the Good News.”

There are so many verses written about Yeshua as the King Ben David. I am just adding     two more.

Ezekiel 37:24, “My servant David will be king over them, They will have One Shepherd. They will walk in My ordinances and observe My rulings and do them.”

Hosea 3:4-5 “For Bnei-Ysrael will remain for many days without a king, without a prince, without sacrifice, without sacred pillar, and without ephod or teraphim. Afterwards, Bnei-Yisrael will return, and they will seek ADONAI their God and David their king. Then they will turn in awe to ADONAI and to His goodness in the last days.”

My prayer for you the reader is to read your Bible. Study the verses yourself. Ask the Good Shepherd, Yeshua the King to lead you to green pastures and still waters. Seek the King now and your days will be satisfying and peaceful.

The Prophecy of Boaz and Ruth Lesson 3

Who is King David?

In the genealogy of Yeshua the Messiah, Matthew identifies the lineage of Boaz and Ruth. Matthew 1:5,6 “Salmon fathered Boaz by Rahab, Boaz fathered Obed by Ruth, Obed fathered Jesse, and Jesse fathered David the king.” The great- grandparents of David, a man from Judah and a woman from Moab, a Jew and a Gentile that were righteous in God’s eyes. The prophecies about Judah having the King who ruled all nations starts with Jacob before he died blessed each of his sons. In Genesis 49:8-11, Jacob is blessing his son Judah,

v.10 “The scepter will not pass from Judah,
not the ruler’s staff  from
between his feet,
until his to whom it belongs will come.
To him will be the obedience
of all peoples.”

This is a Messiah prophecy. The people of Israel was given the prophecy that a king will come through Judah. The genealogy was kept written thousands of years waiting for the   king that Jacob had prophesied to his children. The life of King David would be a physical reminder that the promised King to “whom all nations will obey” will come to set up his kingdom on earth. The Son of God, Yeshua had to come into King David’s lineage to fulfill so many prophecies that David himself wrote about the Messiah.

One such prophecy is Psalms 132, Promise of Ben-David (son of David)v.1-5

“A song of ascents
ADONAI, remember David, all his afflictions
and how he swore to ADONAI, vowed to the mighty one of Jacob;
I will not enter the tent of my house nor lie on my bed,
nor will I give sleep to my eyes, not slumber to my eyelids,
till I find a place for ADONAI, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

2 Samuel 24 tells about how King David found the place for the Holy Temple to be built and purchased it from Araunah the Jebusite. Gad, the prophet, had come to David because of David’s sin against ADONAI. David chose three days of pestilence as the judgment. The angel destroyed 70,000 men  and was stretching his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, when ADONAI relented and told the angel to stop. When David saw the angel that was destroying standing by the threshing floor of Araunah, he cried out to ADONAI and said it was his sin and the judgment should be against him and his father’s house. Gad approached again and told him to build an altar on the threshing floor. King David built an altar of sacrifice that day and ADONAI was moved to stop the plague from Israel. This threshing floor would become the site of the King Solomon’s Temple that David designed and prepared for the rest of his days. David saw by the Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit) that the Messiah King would come to fulfill all the prophecies. The physical King proceeded the anointed Son who was of virgin birth.

The Prophecy of Boaz and Ruth Lesson 2

The Prophecy of Ruth Lesson 2

Who is the paradigm of Ruth?

I have already confessed, I have a Ruth’s heart, but I see one in Sandy and Freda, too.  Why has the Ruth spirit risen in these days before the Messiah’s second return? Our Holy God who created the whole salvation plan desires that He is worshipped by Jews and Gentiles who have accepted His Son’s death on the cross as the finished work to cleanse them from sin and bring them forever into the House of God where the King Yeshua will reign.

Shaul wrote about this in Romans 9-11(please take time to read these chapters). He, specifically, identifies the Jew and Gentile as one in the olive tree. In Romans 11:17, the Gentiles are identified as wild olive branches grafted into the cultivated olive tree or the holy root and branches, Rom. 11:16. Here is the Emet truth, the Jewish roots are the Holy Bible and Yeshua’s life. As a wild branch grafted in our spiritual destiny is found being a part of a Jewish tree! A Ruth spirit has a soft, loving heart toward the Jewish roots, people and Israel as the covenant right to be in existence, and a Ruth’s vow “let only death divide you and me”.

My heart had to be changed from anti-semitism. I admit I was afraid of any person who wasn’t in my family. That included all colors even white. After many years, Yeshua started to be abrasive with me. I was afraid to change. I joined the Army as a nurse officer. I needed to change my fear and start to love all people. I worked with wonderful soldiers and civilians from all over the world. I started looking at all people through Yeshua’s eyes! The anti-semitism was the deepest. Yeshua showed me why. Some of my family were Jews who had escaped persecution and came to live in America. They did not want to be identified as a Jew.

The point is Yeshua cares about your heart. I wanted to be like Ruth but I had to go through a grafting into the holy root and branches to find who I really am. My prayers were answered when I finally made a trip to Israel. I could see the coming of the Messiah more clearly. I wept at the wailing wall, because of all the nations that would not accept Him and come to fight against Him and Israel. I wept for the Jewish people and prayed that the blindness that Shaul talks about is lifted. My heart had come home to Israel.

The prophecy of Boaz and Ruth can be seen in Messianic Jewish congregations spreading all over the world and especially in Israel. I have for in the last 25 years, how Christians have changed their thinking slowly to include this prophetic spiritual move of Yeshua before He comes again. The Jewish believers who hold onto their Jewish roots, Biblical truths and the redemptive work of Yeshua have covered their Gentile Ruths with love and open arms.

The Prophecy of Boaz and Ruth Lesson 2

Lesson 2 The Prophecy of Ruth

Introduction: The book of Ruth is one of two books in the Old Testament or Tanakh written about women. The book of Esther is the other one. Many writers have expressed their interpretations of the Biblical importance of these two women; and so I add my interpretation in this prophetic timeline of today. This is my heart and vision for today. I have had a Ruth heart since I was 18 years old, 1971. It is that heart and vision that has led me to my people in Israel. A journey with bitter memories of physical loss, spiritual famine, lost in the land of idols but meeting many Ruths like me along the way searching for God's truth. This lesson may be abrasive to some, thought provoking to others, and a call to repentance to others. I ask that each reader seeks counsel with the Holy God of Israel and His Son, Yeshua. Ask Him to show the truth, as you read the book of Ruth.

1. Who is Ruth?

The story of Ruth starts in a Gentile land, Moab. Elimelech and his wife Naomi have left Bethlehem in Judah because of a great famine in the land. Ruth a Moabitess marries one of Naomi's sons. While in Moab, Elimelech and the two sons, Mahlon and Chilion die. Naomi is left with no one to support her and starts her journey back Bethlehem where her family lives. On the road back to Israel, Naomi tells her two daughter-in-laws to return to Moab. Oprah returns but Ruth makes a vow to Naomi, Ruth 1:16:

"Do not plead with me to abandon you,
To turn back from following you.
For where you go, I will go,.
and where you stay, I will stay
Your people will be my people,
and your God my God.
Where you die, I will die,
and there I will be buried.
May ADONAI deal with me, and worse,
If anything but death comes between me and you!"

Because of this vow, Ruth follows Naomi’s advice on how to glean the widow’s portion of grain from Boaz’s field. Naomi and Boaz were kinsmen. Naomi knowing the instructions of Torah, guided Ruth to show respect for the law of harvesting. Boaz takes notice and gives Ruth favor with the gleaners and leaves extra portions for Naomi and Ruth. The harvest ends at Shavuot or Pentecost. Naomi instructs Ruth to approach Boaz at night after the festivities and to lay at Boaz’s feet. Boaz awakes and asks who she is. Ruth tells him who she is and asks him to spread the corner of his garment, that  holds the tzitzit over her. She calls him her redeemer or goel.
Boaz knows what to do according to the instructions of the Torah. In the end, he purchases Naomi’s inheritance which includes the rights to redeem Ruth and to give her a son. The son was Obed the father of Jesse who fathered David.

Ruth in Hebrew means friend, neighbor. The root is ra’ah meaning pasture land. Ruth is from the lineage of Lot, Abraham’s nephew. Moab came from a son that Lot had with his daughter. Gen.19:36-38. In Deut. 23:4-7, Moses instructs the children of ADONAI, ‘no Ammonite or Moabite is to enter the land community of ADONAI  forever--because they did not meet you with bread or water on the way when you came out of Egypt and because they hired against you Balaam,.... to curse you.” Ruth is accepted by Naomi and her Jewish family in the land of Moab. They fled to Moab because there was no bread, grain due to drought. This a reversal of the curse found written by Moses. Elimelech’s family found bread and water in Moab. They found a friend, a daughter from a family that was cursed never to be a part of the community of ADONAI. Boaz became her redeemer and Ruth forever is mentioned in the genealogy of Yeshua, Matt. 1:5.

The Boaz and Ruth Prophecy

I am so blessed to be given this destiny, this prophetic time before the Messiah Yeshua returns. Yes, we see birth pangs. Our walk with Yeshua is to spread peace or Shalom, to help the poor, orphan and oppressed. We are to be persecuted for His Name Sake. And to take it with joy!
Here are the questions?
  1. Who is Boaz?
  2. The paradigm of Boaz?
  3. Who is Ruth?
  4. The paradigm of Ruth?
  5. Who is King David?
  6. The paradigm of King David?

Lesson 1 The Prophecy of Boaz
Boaz is first mentioned in Ruth 2:1 " a prominent man of substance whose name was Boaz." Boaz in Hebrew has an unknown root meaning. So he is in effect a mystery. And yet, in the Temple his name would be engraved on a pillar in the porticos of the Temple. 1 Kings 7:21 "Thus he set up the right pillar and named it Jachin, and he set up the left pillar and named it Boaz." The Messianic Tree of Life Bible, p.383 footnote states the meaning, He will Establish and In Him is Strength. Boaz in the story is a descendant of Elimelech, God is King from the tribe of Judah. Boaz as a Jew follows Torah. He becomes the kinsman redeemer to take Ruth his dead nephew's wife to bring a son into the family of Elimelech. Although he is old, he completes a good deed to cover a Gentile
Widow Ruth with his name and possessions.  The paradigm or type of Boaz today is the Messianic Jewish movement. Boaz is found in the land of Israel. We know that Israel became a confirmed nation in 1948. The Messianic Jews have gained their prominence in the land of Israel within the last few decades. They are doing good deeds in helping all peoples in the land and around the world. Their faith is in Yeshua the King of the Jews who died on the cross for all peoples. In their movement, we find Gentiles of all nations joining with them to worship Yeshua,  King of Judah, Israel and all the nations. As Boaz and Ruth married and became parents to a son, the born again Jew and Gentile of today are the predecessors of the return of Yeshua as the conquering King.

As I write this blog, I have to divide it into sections. I need to pray and seek answers. So Lesson 2 will come soon.
