We Must Confess Our Sins Daily

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23

...therefore it is important that we confess our sins daily.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1:9

Abba Father is faithful to perform His Word just as He said He would.

What Does Jesus Mean When He Said “turn the other cheek”.?

Jesus said “turn the other cheek”.  What does He really mean?

“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.” Matthew 5:38-39

The scripture is from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount.  What He’s NOT saying…to be passive and accept whatever injustices or unfair treatment you experience or observe. It won’t just go away if it is ignored.  It can’t be rationalized into oblivion.

What is He really saying to those to whom He’s preaching?  Though it may seem from the scripture that Jesus/Yeshua is giving a civic lesson in passivity to the Galileans, He is not!  On the contrary, He is addressing those who are marginalized…seen and treated as less-than... during His time on earth. These Galileans were looked down upon, abused and cheated out of their meager earnings by the Roman government and the priests…yes, the priests.  Yeshua is teaching them how to be empowered; take their dignity back…be proactive.  They’d had a lifetime of being, socially, economically and politically down-trodden by those in power or authority. The Galileans were often targets of their abuse.  We are all created in God’s image and as such should be treated with dignity and respect.

Jesus specifically said …right cheek… why is that?  In the Bible days, among Jews, a slap or any form of striking in the face was demeaning and contemptible.  It speaks of insulting others.  It was the normal way to reprimand those under your authority …Romans to Jews, masters to slaves and even husbands to wives.  One would never strike an equal in this manner.  It was socially and legally unacceptable and carried a fine.

To be struck on the right cheek implies that the striker used the left hand to strike or a back-hand slap. Both slaps are insulting.  In the Middle East the left hand is reserved for dirty actions, including toilet functions.  It is not permitted to place the left hand on the table, use it for eating or extend it to others.  To be struck on the right cheek was done either with the left hand or backhanded with the right hand.  The striker does not have many options.  To use the left hand would mean you’ve done something unclean.  To strike with the right hand hitting the left cheek is as if striking an equal and that would not be the intent because the intent is to reprimand.

Jesus’ instruction to turn the other cheek and not resist evil empowers the Galileans not to accept injustice, to resist domination and oppression in a non-violent manner.  Surprise the one insulting you by turning the other cheek… if you are slapped on the cheek of inferiority, turn the cheek of equal dignity.  You’re saying in a non-violent manner that you will no longer  accept being marginalized.  Demanding without speech to be treated as an equal.  We’re all created equal by the One and only true God and will accept nothing less than what He intended for me.  We’re all fearfully and wonderfully made.  Psalm 139:14

Be Ready When Your Blessing is Sent...It’s Coming

You are a New Creation

Now that you’re a new creation in Christ Jesus your work/walk truly begins.  You really cannot take this journey alone.  You must allow the Holy Spirit to guide you.  You must have a mentor.  You must attend Bible Study and READ YOUR BIBLE.  It’s really not like reading any other book.  You must read with understanding which will NOT happen without the aid of the Holy Spirit and a mentor who is will know them by their fruit...Galatians 5:22.  Is their speech edifying?  Do they let their light shine?  Will their work glorify God.  How do they treat others?  Will God be pleased? The Holy Spirit will let you know the truth. The Holy Spirit will lead you into all truth. John 16:13.  Join a church as the Spirit leads. Attend church EVERY Sunday....or Saturday (Sabbath) or both...BUT be sure that when you hear the Word from the pulpit, you read your Bible yourself to know what you’ve heard is God’s truth.  What is truly in the Word.  Learn His Word for yourself...ask questions of your mentor, ask the Holy Spirit for clarification...She truly will show you...go with God so that you can grow with God.  May you always be blessed.  Welcome into the fold.  No place like being in the Body of Christ...NOTHING LIKE ITπŸ‘†πŸ½πŸ‘†πŸ½πŸ‘†πŸ½πŸ‘†πŸ½πŸ‘†πŸ½πŸ™πŸΎπŸ™πŸΎπŸ™πŸΎ

Treat the People’s Needs As Holy

Throughout the Bible it is God’s will that we treat the needs of His people as Holy.  We are blessed to be a blessing.  We demonstrate the righteousness of God in our lives as we live a righteous life each and every day.  We are Tzadikim (Righteous).

Treat the People’s Needs as Holy…

Know and Identify Your Judas

Blessings to all this beautiful day that the Lord has made.  Yes, I rejoice that He’s allowed me to be here to enjoy it and bless someone(s) as I go through the day.

I was watching a Devotional a short while ago and it was entitled “Judas”.  The Pastor talked about how Yeshua knew and identified His Judas...even picked him to be one of His talmidim (disciples).  He went as far as letting Judas know that he would be the one to betray Him...but He loved him, always included him and prayed for him.  Pastor encouraged us to identify our Judas because we all have one in our lives.

Know that we all have something in our lives to be delivered from. Luke 6:28. “Bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you”.

Know your Judas and pray for and love them...we’re called in the Word to do just that.  Grace and shalom to allπŸ™πŸΎπŸ‘†πŸ½πŸ‘†πŸ½πŸ‘†πŸ½πŸ™πŸΎ❤️

Book of Hebrews

Someone recently told me that after much research, they’ve determined that the book of Hebrews is a rejection of Judaism but how could that be??

Would Adonai reject His own?  Judaism, as I understand it, is the beliefs and practices given by God and recorded in Torah.
“Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgments which the LORD your God has commanded to teach you, that you may observe them in the land which you are crossing over to possess, 2 that you may fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged. 3 Therefore hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe it, that it may be well with you, and that you may multiply greatly as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you—‘a land flowing with milk and honey.’[a]
4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one![b] 5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:1-9
God has always loved the Jewish people, hence Judaism and will continue to do so.  There is no getting around that.  How can we say that Hebrews is a rejection of Judaism? The entire Bible is His Word to ALL who love Him and will keep His commandments.
The Jewish people are waiting for the coming Mashiach.  They still do not believe that Yeshua ben Josef is the Mashiach…after all how can a carpenter’s son be their expected King? Can anything good come out of Nazareth? John 1:46
So the Jewish people are waiting for Yeshua ben David…the Kingly Mashiach that will come as described in the book of Revelation.  As the book of Hebrews addresses First Century Jewish believers in Yeshua, they are being urged not to return to Judaism, a faith being practiced without Yeshua.  The Jewish people who had become believers in Yeshua were being ostracized and persecuted for leaving their Jewish faith (Judaism) to follow One, Who to them, was not the expected Mashiach. Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach. Hebrews 13:13.  They were undergoing trials and persecution; some were following strange teachings and had stopped meeting with other believers in Yeshua to worship.  To return to their original form of Judaism would mean that they had abandoned the work done by Yeshua which now allowed them direct access to God the Father.
I believe the point of the book of Hebrews is to encourage those who now believe in Yeshua not to go back to a form of Judaism without Yeshua.  This is a form of Judaism that, though the people love God, they will not be with the Him because they cannot enter His presence and live forever with Him, if they don’t receive His Son, Yeshua.  The Word (Bible) tells us, Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.  John 14:6.
I, personally, believe more than anything that Hebrews is encouraging the people to embrace all of God and Who He is. To not embrace Yeshua but return to a form of Judaism is not the way to go. He is encouraging them to persevere though there are obstacles because in the end a Sabbath-rest with Yeshua is coming…stay focused on the One Who can bring deliverance.

Praying for the loved ones of those who died in Florida

Abba Father Your Word says “if my people who are called by My Name will humble themselves, pray, seek My Face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from Heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land”. II Chronicles 7:14

A horrific tragedy occurred on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 in the state of Florida, USA πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ.  17 people, many children, teenagers mainly but some younger were gunned down in their school by a very disturbed 19 year old.

Adonai, the schools in our country have rejected You; turned their backs on You; don’t welcome Your presence.  It is the law of this land.  Adonai, where You are not evil lies.  Darkness engulfs and envelopes.  Abba help those of us who know You and walk with You are called to be the light that pierces the darkness.  Abba, You are the Light in the darkness.  The Light the darkness cannot keep out.  Since we are Yours, we have Your Light.  We are the agents of Your Light.  Help us each and every day, as we go through our day to pray for each child, no matter who they are.  As we pass them in the street, walk or drive pass a school or daycare to say a prayer of covering, of blessing over them, their teachers, counselors, other school or day care personnel who have encounters with them that You will keep them from harm; that no evil will befall them; that You will intercept and annihilate any harm that may be headed their way;  praying that they are prayed for and blessed before they leave home every morning and go to sleep at night.  Praying that they live in Godly homes.  That the adults who interact with them on a daily basis and those who have incidental contact with them are Godly people who have a relationship with You.  That these very children KNOW You, that they also have a relationship with You.  That they have discerning spirits and know to call on You without hesitation.

Abba Father, be a fence around Your children and place Godly influences in their every area of their lives.

Abba Father, have mercy upon us.  Please keep Your hand upon us.  We, Your children, need You.  This world is which we live is not safe without You.  We are in this world but not of this world.  We need Your guidance and Protection so that no harm will come upon us.

I humbly submit this prayer to You, under the Blood of Yeshua on behalf of every man, woman and Child who are called by Your Name.  Amen

Psalm 91 is my covering.  All glory, praise and honor to the Most High GodπŸ™πŸΎπŸ™πŸΎπŸ™πŸΎπŸ™πŸΎ❤️

God's Sovereign Will

Praying for healing or for Adonai’s Sovereign will. You have a loved one, family or friend, who is very sick and instinctively you must pray. How do you pray? What do you pray? Our Abba Father is a Sovereign God and His Sovereign will is what we, His children, should always desire. We must remember that as children of a Sovereign God, we are commanded to be in the world but NOT of the world. Everything…every aspect of our lives... must reflect that. When we pray for others, the world must see our strong faith and hope is in Yeshua/Jesus. We must pray knowing that healing can come here on earth or in heaven, our Eternal home. Fear cannot enter in, doubt cannot enter in and our fleshly and selfish desires cannot enter in. We must pray for Abba Father’s Sovereign will for that individual who is ill.

The Tallit

TALLIT (S) TALLIOT (P) – fringed garment…prayer shawl…traditionally worn by Jews. It is a Hebrew word which means little covering.
It represents the Righteousness of Elohim.
Has special twined and knotted fringes known as Tzizit attached to the four corners.  The cloth part is known as the “beged” and is usually made from wool or linen.  Silk is sometimes used.  The tallit can be worn under or over clothing.  The neckband is called the Atarah and has the blessing “Baruch atah Adonai”… which is recited each time before it is adorned.
The word Tallit does not appear in Torah but there are many instances where the “covering” is indicated.  Ruth asked Boaz to cover her with his garment because he was a near kinsman of Naomi (Ruth3:9).  Psalm 91 speaks of the tallit.  The woman with the issue of blood touched the hem of Yeshua’s garment and was immediately healed.  (Matt. 9:20-22)  The power is in the Tzizit.  As soon as she touched the hem…the Tzitzit, Yeshua knew because He felt the power leave him.
Elohim instructed Moses (Numbers 15:38) to tell the children of Israel to make fringes on the corners of their garments throughout the ages.  It is to be a blue thread.  It is traditionally worn during morning prayers on week days and Shabbat and other Jewish holidays.  Although it has other ritual uses, the Torah states that to display the Tzitzit is to remind oneself to observe all the commandments (613) of the Lord and to guard against the sin of unbelief. NUMERICAL VALUE OF TZITZIT IS 600.  COMBINED WITH THE 5 KNOTS OF 8 THREADS GIVES A TOTAL OF 613 according to the Jewish sages. The Tallit is worn  by Jewish boys/men, who are bar mitzvah  during morning services.  It is not worn during afternoon and evening prayers because Biblical interpretation understands it to be worn only during the light of day.  Worn during morning prayers (Numbers 15:38-39), Torah reading services, during a special portion of Yom Kippur and some other holiday services, special occasions such as circumcisions, bar mitzvahs, weddings (used sometimes to make a canopy or Chuppah) over the couple, Shabbat home services for blessing the children, burial…an Orthodox Jewish man is wrapped in his Tallit when he is buried.  The Tzitzits are cut from the corners at this time.  It is important that we note that when Yeshua was placed in the tomb His Tzitzits were not removed as He would rise again in 3 days.  A form of the tallit, called the Tallit Katan may be worn at all times.
Shrouding ones head in a tallit is a way to keep the eyes from straying and to create a sense of focus…prayer closet.  It is worn by husbands as they pray in their homes and the wives are with them under the shawl.
The Tzitzit Blessing.  It is removed from the Tallit bag or the Synagogue rack, carefully unfolded, held up and inspected to ensure there are no defects on it.  Then the prayer is recited.
·         A cord of techelet, thought to be a royal blue/purple is supposed to be added to the fringe at each corner.  However the dye came from a now extinct snail found near Tyre, the color requirement has been waived.  As a reminder of the techelet either blue or sometimes black stripes are added to the tallit itself.
Many customs …do not wear your Tallit into the bathroom

The Tzitzit are kissed during the recitation of the 3rd paragraph of the Shema (Numbers 15:37-41) which mentions the Tzitzit 3 times.

Jesus is Our Covering

"He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge.  His faithfulness is body armour and shield" Psalm 91:4

In That Quiet Place

We should be able to enjoy our own company.  It is usually in this quiet space and time that we can clearly hear our Abba Father's voice.  Be silent before Him.

"Speak Lord, Your servant is listening"  I Samuel 3:10

Stay Under the Blood

WEAR YOUR ARMOR.... PUT IT ON!! Ephesians 6:10-18

Stay focused on the tasks at hand.
Do not allow Satan to distract you. He comes only to steal, to kill and destroy John 10:10

"No weapon formed against you shall prosper. And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their righteousness is from me" says the Lord Isaiah 54:17

"I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places that you may know that I, the Lord, Who call you by your name, am the God of Israel" Isaiah 45:2-4. You are Spiritual Israel.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help...

The Lord is your keeper, the Lord is your shade upon your right hand. The sun shall not smite you by day nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve you from all evil. He shall preserve your soul.
The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth and even forever more. Psalm 121 excerpts

"Blessed be the Lord Who has not given us as prey to their teeth.
Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers. Psalm 124
No weapon formed...Psalm 91 is your covering...get it in your spirit
Shalom Aleichem!

Always Look to See Someone's Heart

Please do not let the enemy deceive you into "not liking" someone, you haven't even taken the time to get to know.

A wisdom gem from my Sister in Christ😚

Reserve judgement... you just may be pleasantly surprised. Don't see others with a jaundiced eye but through the eyes of the Almighty One.  Through the eyes of your Savior.

Defeat the Enemy with the Sword...the Word of God

I pray that, as Pastor Donny McClurkin said, the plans of the enemy are interrupted before the evil is done. Help us Lord. We are so lost, so defeated without You.

Help us to fall on our knees, humble ourselves and implore You to come to our defense. In Yeshua's Name I pray. Amen

We are commanded to pray. Pray without ceasing

Pray in season and out of season...not only for yourselves, but for others...

"If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear form Heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land" II Chronicles 7:14

What Makes A Ship Unsinkable

What Makes A Ship Unsinkable

Monday, January 8, 2018
An American preacher visiting Belfast was scheduled to preach in the church which had lost 16 of its members on the unsinkable ship, the Titanic. It was a week after the tragedy. The church was filled with lords, bishops and ministers of all denominations. The audience was filled with newly made widows and orphans sobbing all around. The sermon was called “The Unsinkable Ship”. It wasn’t about the Titanic. It was about a much smaller, much frailer and much more humble ship that sailed the Sea of Galilee two thousand years before. It was unsinkable, not because of its construction, but because Messiah was in it. Messiah is the Lord of land and sea. He’s the master of storms and He’s the calmer of raging waves. In this life, we sail many vessels of career, success, popularity, health, youth, and money. Some of these vessels look strong, solid, rich, and glorious, bu t all th ese vessels ultimately sink. A life that’s built instead on the presence of the Rabbi from Nazareth is the ship that will never sink. That life will make it through every storm. That’s the unsinkable ship.
From Message #695 - The Jesus Boat
Scripture: Jer. 32:27
TODAY'S MISSION - In any distress, trouble, fear, or anxiety today, comfort your soul with the knowledge that you’re not going to sink. Messiah is in your boat!

Why It’s Important That Moses Is Dead

Tuesday, January 9, 2018
The first five books of the Bible are called the Torah. The Torah ends commending Moses, but the very next book opens with God saying, “Moses, My servant, is dead.” Without the Book of Joshua, the Bible couldn’t get on with salvation. Because as great as Moses was, the Bible isn’t about Moses. It’s about God. God is I AM! He doesn’t stay in the past, He’s now. God had to tell Israel, in effect, Moses is dead now, get on with it. Too often God’s people dwell on the past, on how good or bad it was. If you do that, you won’t be able to move on and inherit the blessings He’s got for your life. God is saying to you, “Moses is dead.” The glory of the past is no more, its pain and sorrow are over. Stop dwelling on it, say goodbye and move on, because God is now. Therefore arise, cross the Jordan and enter the land of milk and honey. Get on with your life, get on with the blessin g, because Moses, my servant, is dead.
From Message #609 - Moses is Dead
Scripture: Luke 9:62
TODAY'S MISSION - Today, make a conscious effort to live in the present and presence of God. Let go of the past and get on with the blessing.

The Monster and the Baby from Rabbi Cahn’s Sapphires

The Monster And The Baby

Wednesday, January 10, 2018
In the late 19th century, a customs service worker in the Austrian Empire fell in love and married his cousin, Klara, who gave birth to 3 children, all of whom died as infants. Her fourth child, a son, survived. He was her treasure. The baby’s name: Adolfus Hitler, or Adolf Hitler. What I’ve described to you is the birth of perhaps the most diabolical man ever born. Was this the birth of a monster? No. April 20, 1889 was the birth of a baby, not a monster. That baby would grow up to be a monster because he’d make choices in his life of pride, anger, bitterness, self-pity, blame, selfishness, spite, and hatred. This very powerfully confirms the Word of God. Throughout your life, you’re given choices which could lead you to become a monster on one hand or a saint on the other; life versus death. Over the long run, you become what you choose: a monster or a saint. So God say s, “choose life,” because you will be not what you were and not what you are, but what you choose. Choose life.
From Message #630 - The Kingdom of Broken Crosses
Scripture: Deut. 30:19
TODAY'S MISSION - In every decision you make today, choose the path of life.

Rabbi Cahn’s Sapphires

Thursday, January 11, 2018
The longest book in the world is the Bible. Other books have more words and pages, but the Bible is longer. Why? It was written over a period of about 1500 years. There’s no other book like it. Imagine a book that’s begun at the fall of the Roman Empire, continued through the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Enlightenment, the Industrial Revolution, and finally finished by a modern day street vendor in the Bronx. It’d be a miracle for such a book to be at all coherent or consistent. That’s exactly what the Bible is - it perfectly begins in Genesis and perfectly ends with the Book of Revelation. It bears the unmistakable mark of one author... God! Your life may be filled with lots of things that don’t seem to be consistent, coherent, hold together, or make sense. But just as God wove together the Bible into something perfect and awesome, so He is able to weave tog ether al l the loose ends of your life. Just put Him first and follow His plot and your life will become something perfect and beautiful.
From Message #39 - That You Might Know
Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16
TODAY'S MISSION - Today, follow the leading of the Lord at every step. Let Him be the author of your day, and you the work of His hands.

The Pantheist Christian from Rabbi Cahn's Sapphires

The Pantheist Christian

Friday, January 5, 2018
The basis of Eastern and New Age religion is that ultimately everything and anything is God - pantheism. When people in the Lord put “Thus sayeth the Lord”, “The Lord told me”, or “The Lord spoke to me” in front of everything they say, they run the risk of sliding unknowingly into that same pantheism. When everything is the voice of God then there’s no voice of God. It’s very easy to say “God told me this” or “God promised me that”. It’s easy to attach God’s name to your desires, hopes, and dreams, and there’s nothing spiritual about it. In fact, it’s taking the name of the Lord in vain. When you mistake your own voice for the voice of God, you’ll stop hearing the real voice of God. God is Holy. His Voice is Holy. We have to be still and listen to it. We have to be rooted and grounded in the sure Word of God as found in the Scriptures. Be rooted, grounded, and strong in His Word. For thus sayeth the Lord, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will never pass away.”
From Message #588 - Prophets of Lies
Scripture: Ps. 95:7
TODAY'S MISSION - Today, spend time being still before Him, listen for His voice, and receive His word.

Devils and Demons

Devils and Demons

Christian churches rarely talk about devils and demons.  Yeshua however acknowledged that they exist in Matthew 17:21 and Mark 9:29.  There is a marked difference between devils and demons. The Council of Constantinople, in AD 553 introduced the notion that devils and demons are the same. The leaders of that Council ruled that any written opinion that distinguishes between the two should be destroyed. This was an expansion of the anti-Jewish laws in AD 327, Lost in Translation, vol. 1.

HaSatan, Lucifer, the devil is the leader of the devils and demons. II Corinthians 11:13-15.  Elohim created heavenly beings called angels.  They were dedicated to eternal service to Elohim carrying out His missions throughout His creation.  There are three separate orders of angels, each having a unique form, function and purpose.

There are cherubic/archangel, the highest and most powerful.  They surround the throne of Elohim.  They had six wings, four faces and were very large Revelation 4:7. Those most familiar to believers are Michael, Gabriel, Lucifer, Abaddon (the least known and is the angel of death), Uriel and Raphael.  Two of the six, Lucifer, often comes as the cherub of light and Abaddon, was once the cherub of life, were cast out of heaven  due to disobedience and God stripped them of both their names and authority.

Seraphim are the middle order and are also known as the burning ones or healing angels.  As messengers, they race back and forth between heaven and earth, doing God’s will.

Teraphim are the lowest order. They take on human form and maintain it for extended periods.  They are also known as ayir, a Hebrew word meaning watcher.  They watch over believers and serve as custodians and protectors of men’s souls.  The Teraphim are our guardian angels.  Fallen Teraphim are called “idols”.  It is believed that the Hebrew word “ha teraphim” indicates that the spirits behind the wooden idols (carved figures) that Rachel stole from her father’s household were fallen teraphim.  Evil power comes from the fallen angels or devils who are actually the power behind each idol.  False gods are real in a literal sense, even in the modern era, especially the highly worshipped gods of black magic sects.

Nephilim.  The Book of Enoch tells the story of how 200 teraphim, led by one named Samyaza made a pact whereby they took on human form, seduced human women, called sirens and fathered giant offspring, a hybrid of devils and humans not created by Elohim, Lost in Translation, vol. 1.   They are called nephilimGoliath, whom David slew, was a nephilim.

Demons are the disembodied souls of dead nephilim.  They are also called “unclean spirits” by ancient Hebrews. They are void of any spiritual or emotional resemblance to humans, who are God-breathed.  Human attributes therefore cannot be attributed to nephilim.

Devils and demons have not gone away.  They live, even today and will be prevalent during the end times. Watch and pray.

The Jewish Wedding and Its New Testament Correlation

Jewish Wedding and Its New Testament Correlation

You’ve made a wonderful decision to choose Yeshua whose name means Salvation in Hebrew.  Your new life in Christ has now begun but you need to be guided…to walk that walk and become a disciple who will then go into the world and tell other the wonderful news of the saving Messiah.

Though there are many aspects to this walk, it is not difficult.  Remember you have the Holy Spirit to guide you. You have now become the Bride of Christ.  You’re a part of the body of believers…you are “spiritual Israel” because you’ve made the wise choice to follow Yehsua…joining those citizens of Israel…God’s Chosen people and its citizens who have knowledge of the saving grace of Yeshua and have received Salvation because they too believe that Yeshua is the Son of God.

The Jewish wedding and its correlation to the modern-day believer’s submission to Yeshua is the process of being sanctified.  There are ancient rituals associated with the Jewish wedding that are rich in spiritual truths that remind Israel…of their covenant with Elohim and HIS love for them.
God has made Covenant with His set-apart/Sanctified people. These Covenants are never initiated by man, but by Elohim.

The Marriage Covenant is a culmination of three Covenants and is the core of everything Elohim ordained. Blood Covenant/Servanthood represented by red light; Salt/Friendship Covenant by yellow light and the Sandal/Inheritance Covenant represented by the blue light.  Each covenant extends onto the previous one and when combined these colors produce a pure white light which is the color of Elohim.
At the wedding feast all must wear white signifying that all covenant relationships have been honored. Matthew 22:11-12
In the Scriptures Yeshua identifies Himself as the Bridegroom and all who enter into all three forms of Covenant as the bride.  In ancient Hebrew culture the wedding was a significant social and religious event.  It was also part of the process involving commitment and covenant and could take several years to complete.
As we choose to grow in our intimacy with Elohim, we become conduits of His light thereby reflecting more and more of His Divine nature.  Elohim’s desire is not for us to remain servants, friends or children but to become His bride.  First we must be redeemed by going through the process.  We have to make ourselves ready.
The consent of the bride to the proposal of marriage in ancient Hebrew times is equivalent to Yeshua’s invitation for the believer to receive Salvation and the believer accepting.  The Hebrew bride can accept or reject the offer even though it was arranged just as the believer can reject the invitation for salvation knowing what Yeshua suffered, the shedding of His Blood, to save the believer from sin.

There are three steps in the process.  The first step is the shiddukhin or arrangement.  The groom’s father would select a bride for his son even as he was still an infant. Love, as we define it, was secondary.  Once the
bride has been chosen, the next step is the Ketubah or formal, written contract which details the provisions and conditions proposed for the marriage. The groom promises to support his wife-to-be while the bride stipulates the contents of her dowry.  To prepare for the betrothal ceremony, it was customary for the couple to separately take a ritual immersion in water (mikveh) and was symbolic of spiritual cleansing just as the believers’ baptism by immersion in water symbolizes the believer dying to himself/herself and beginning their new life in Yeshua, in preparation for His return.

Eyrusin (betrothal) is the second step where the couple appears under the huppah (canopy) in a public ceremony wherein they make known their intention to become engaged.  Kiddukshin (sanctification or set-apart) describes the engagement or betrothal period.  It is all about setting themselves aside for one another for the covenant marriage.  This correlates with the believer’s promised sanctification, after accepting the offer of salvation and has set himself/herself apart in preparation for the wedding…Yeshua’s second coming.
The huppah is symbolic of a new household being planned.  Items of value are exchanged and cup of wine is drunk to seal the eyrusin vows. The couple is considered to have fully entered into the agreement of eyrusin for one year. Though considered married during this one year period, they were not allowed to cohabit… no consummation… and they lived in separate dwellings just as Yeshua returned to the Father and believers live on earth.  In comparison, modern day engagement or betrothal is not binding as the eyrusin.  The eyrusin was so binding that the couple would need a religious divorce or “get” to annul the contract and was only given to the husband.  Disobedience caused Yeshua to reject the believer who broke covenant. Revelation 16:15, 22:7, 10-11. The wife had no say in this decision.  The couple each had their respective responsibilities during this period.  The groom used this time as a time of preparation, such as preparing a dwelling place for his bride and future children.  Usually accomplished by adding another room to the family’s existing home.  Yeshua said “in My Father’s house are many mansions…John 14:2-3.  The bride, in the meantime, focuses on her own personal preparation, including consecrating herself just as believers are to be consecrating themselves in preparation for Yeshua’s return Luke 21:34-36. For both bride and groom it was to be a year of introspection and contemplation readying themselves for this holy covenant of marriage.

The Nissuin culminates the process of the Jewish wedding ceremony… the bride waits, for the groom to carry her away to their new home.  The groom’s, and the wedding party’s, time of arrival was a surprise that he, the groom, didn’t know because it was determined by his father just as Yeshua warned that we are to be prepared because only the Father knows the day and the hour of the groom’s coming.  It was therefore the bride’s, as it is every believer’s, who has consecrated him/herself to be prepared for the Bridegroom’s, Yeshua’s, arrival Mark 13:32-33, Matthew 25:13, if the year-long betrothal period was taken seriously and is expecting the Bridegroom.  The bride/believers should be anticipating the Bridegroom’s arrival even into the late night.  A member of the groom’s party would run ahead and shout/announce that the groom is coming and the shofar was sounded to proclaim this special event Revelation 22:20.  The bridal party was to keep the oil lamps filled burning just in case the wedding was to begin.  We are reminded in the parable of the ten virgins that only five had oil in their lamps.  The other five went to buy oil and returned to find the doors locked Matthew 25:10-13. They were turned away by the groom because they had not kept their covenant.  At the sound of the shofar the groom would lead the wedding party through the streets to the bride’s house.  The groomsmen would carry the bride back to the groom’s house where the huppah/canopy was set up.  The couple would yet again say a blessing over a cup of wine.  It was not the same cup used at the blessing of the betrothal the previous year.  This ceremony is the culmination of the earlier promises and vows. The earlier promise was now consummated in this, the nissuin ceremony.

The celebration was continued with the marriage supper which could last many days and involved not only eating and drinking, but music, dance and other festivities.  The new husband is now free to take his bride to their new home and to live together within the full covenant of marriage.

I found that reading about the traditional Jewish wedding…the marriage covenant and all it entails…and the believer’s covenant with Yeshua are exactly the same.  As believers we are to consecrate ourselves, be set apart from the world so that when Yeshua returns we will be prepared, dressed in our white garments Revelation 16:15 ready to go with Him and not be as the wedding guest who was rejected because his garment was not white Matthew 22:11-13.

The Third Cup of Wine

Four cups of wine are directly related to the Covenants. God established four cups of wine as milestones to signify exactly where the betrothal parties were in their negotiations.  Each cup corresponds to a covenant.  My focus is on the third cup of wine.
The third cup of wine corresponds to the cup Yeshua shared with His disciples during the Passover feast…the Last Supper when He washed their feet John 13:5 and thus transferred His inheritance to them (sandal covenant).  Yeshua also made further reference to His coming marriage to “His called out ones”, knowing that it was customary for the Bridegroom not to drink wine again until the wedding ceremony.  It explains why He said He would not touch the fruit of the vine again until He could do so with them in the Kingdom of Heaven Mark 14:25, Luke 22:30 and why He refused the pain-numbing wine that was offered by the Roman soldiers as He hung on the cross Matthew 27:34, Mark 15:23.  It is important that believers, as we partake in the communion ceremony, remember that we are reaffirming our commitment as Yeshua’s bride. The communion in the Upper Room is a picture of the Covenant sequence except that Yeshua reversed the sequence.  He first removed His disciples’ sandals and washed their feet John 13:9 (inheritance); He then broke bread, I Corinthians 11:24 (friendship) and passed a cup of wine I Corinthians 11:25 (service). Finally, a few hours later, He went on to shed His blood on the Cross in the ultimate blood covenant.  Believers must recognize at every communion occasion, what Yeshua did on the cross.

Holy Communion is a very solemn experience and should be reverenced by those partaking of the Communion table. It is important that we remember that we’re making a re-commitment to pursue Him, our friendship with Him and to be good stewards of all that He has given us.  We must be cognizant that each time we partake of the cup, we are recommitting to serve Him, obey Him, to follow His rules and ordinances.  We must walk in Torah.  The commitment we make at communion is the same as what a bride and groom make to each other.  Believers are in covenant with Yeshua. It is binding.  Believers and the church or church leadership do not have the option of restructuring that relationship to suit ourselves.  The cups of wine of the betrothal covenant overlay and therefore reinforce the individual covenants in the sequence.  This was purposely done in order for Yeshua to build a seamless mosaic of concepts that will ultimately establish and maintain a relationship leading to marriage, Lost In Translation, vol. 1 …a marriage between Yeshua and His bride, the church.

Be an Expert Witness - Speak What You Know...Message from Rabbi Cahn's Sapphires

The Expert Witness… You!

Thursday, January 4, 2018
How do you witness? It’s much simpler than you think. Witnessing comes down to simply bearing witness. It doesn’t mean you have to be impressive or eloquent, you just bear witness. Imagine you’re on a jury and a guy comes in as a witness in a case and he looks slick, polished, well-rehearsed, every line’s the right line, every word and mannerism is professional. Would you find him very trustworthy? Probably not. You don’t believe a witness who’s skilled, you believe a witness who’s sincere and who’s real. A witness isn’t called to be skilled, smooth, or professional; a witness is called simply to bear witness to what he or she knows. That’s it. So how do you witness? You just bear witness to what you know, not to what you don’t know. Just be real, be sincere, and just share what you know. Do you know the Messiah? Share Him! You know He came into your life, you kn ow He’s great, and you know your life has changed. Share it! That’s all there is to it. Just share what you know and you’ll end up being an expert witness.

Knowing the Enemy...spiritual warfare

"When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places looking for rest.  Not finding any it says, 'I will return to my house where I came from.' When it does, it finds the house swept and put in order.  Then it goes and takes along seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and settle there and that man's last condition becomes worse than the first." Luke 11:24-26

Evil spirits crave embodiment...a place to dwell, to rest.  Mark 5:11-17 is the story of Jesus talking to the evil spirit, Legion, because he said to Jesus, there are many of us.  He knew Jesus was going to cast him out of the man and he pleaded with Jesus to send them into the pigs that were grazing on the nearby hillside.  Jesus did as he requested and the pigs fled down the hills into the sea and were drowned.

When an evil spirit is driven out of a person, it will immediately look for another person to inhabit.  When none is found, it will return to the person it came out of and will take with him seven, the Bible says, other spirits more evil than he making the person worse than he was before the spirit was first driven out.  If we fall from God's Grace, our subjection to Satan is doubled and he treats us with greater cruelty than before.

The point is, driving out the evil spirit the first time is a work NOT completed.  There is still work to be done.  Luke 11:21-22 says "When a strong one, fully armed, protects his own estate, his possessions are safe.  But as soon as someone stronger than he attacks and overpowers him, then he takes away the armor he trusted in and divides up the plunder"

We must remember that demons are stronger than men so men cannot protect themselves from demons BUT God is stronger than the demons.  Therefore inviting the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God to dwell within us is the only sure way to remain free from demon-possession. I John 4:4

The house, your heart, may have been swept clean of common sin, possibly a forced confession.  The heart may be free from sin BUT it has not been made Holy unto God. Hence, the phrase, it passes through "waterless" places looking for rest.  The Holy Spirit is represented by water. So, the sin has been removed and the heart is clean but there is no HOLY SPIRIT.  The person has not been made Holy unto God.  It is like sweeping a floor, the top layer of dust has been removed but the floor needs to be scoured to be totally clean.  So it is with the sinner, the deeper sin is untouched.  The Holy Spirit does not dwell there because the individual has not totally surrendered.  Satan still has possession of their soul.  It is a barren wilderness for Satan's demons. If there is a chasm/chink in our armour, Satan will take that  chasm and enter and regain control.  We must continue to be filled with the Holy Spirit...pray for a fresh anointing every day, endeavoring that Jesus, holding His reign within us will keep us from Satan's entry and keep us strong. We are then NOT intimidated because we have the invincible power of the Holy Spirit who preserves us in safety though Satan is more angry with us than he was before and his attacks are more fierce and his rage more intensified.  We MUST put on our Spiritual Warfare armor every single day.  "Put on the full armor of God, so that you are able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the powers, against the worldly forces of this darkness and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God so that you may be able to resist when the times are evil; and after you have done everything, to stand firm..." Ephesians 6:10-18

Know that once you give your life to Jesus, this is where your work begins and you must do all that it takes to draw closer to our Father, through the Son.  We must do inventory on a regular basis.  Search yourself and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal in you where changes need to be made.  Psalm 51:9, 12-13 "Cleanse me with hyssop and I will be clean; wash me and I will be whiter than snow. Create in me a clean heart O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me; Do not cast me from Your presence; take not Your Holy Spirit from me".  Then confess your sin, I John 1:9  "If we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness".

Become Unleaven ...Free from Sin

We have been told in I Cor. 5:7-8 to “purge out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump since you are truly unleavened.  For Indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.  Therefore let us keep the feast not with the old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice or wickedness but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.”  By faith believers have accepted the sacrifice of the Passover Lamb.  We have been delivered by the true Passover Lamb.  We are now living in the Feast of the Unleavened Bread where purity and separation from leaven are required.  Believers need to not only get rid of the large conspicuous loaves on the table and leave the little pieces of leaven scattered on the floor.  Those little pieces will contaminate everything else (I Cor. 5:6).  That’s the reason why the Jewish families, in ancient Israel, when preparing for the feast made certain that the corners were also swept clean of any leaven that may be hidden, even under the stove.  HE commanded them to purge it out, all of it.

2018 - The Year of His Favor and Will from Rabbi Cahn's Sapphires

Wednesday, January 3, 2018
Messiah began His ministry reading Isaiah 61:1, “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me …to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” He came to fulfill this Scripture, but His ministry didn’t end in that first year. All the things He spoke about are not limited in time. The anointing of Messiah is to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and that word in Hebrew is ‘ratsone.’ It also means will, desire, delight, pleasure, and satisfaction. In Messiah’s anointing, you have the power to live a year that the Lord wants you to live, that He’ll take pleasure in, is satisfied in, delights in, and will be pleased with. The year the Lord has for you is the Year of Ratsone. But ratsone doesn’t just mean favor and delight; it also means will. The year of the Lord’s will. Consecrate this year to the Lord’s will and commit every part of your life to His will above even your own. Messiah will give you the anointing to live it and it will become for you the Year of Ratsone, the Year of the Lord’s Favor on you!

A Second Chance to do God's Will

The English word ‘year’ is pretty simple. But the Hebrew word for ‘year’ holds many mysteries – the word is ‘Shannah.’ One of its meanings is ‘the second.’ So each New Year presents a ‘second’ chance to do the Lord’s will. This year may not have gone the way you hoped or wanted it to, but take heart. This is a new year, and in Hebrew it’s a Shannah - a second chance to have that victory, to do it right, to overcome that sin, to break out of that bondage, to show love to that person, to make it right. It’s a second chance to rise up to your calling. God is the God of second chances and after that He will have another second chance, for His mercies are new every morning. So go for it. Do it right by the power of His grace. Live the life you were called to live, live the year you were called to live, and win the victory you were called to win. For it is a new year and that means it’s a Shannah. It’s your second chance to triumph. Happy New Year - Happy Second Chance.

Rabbi Cahn's Sapphires - The New In New Years

We come to the beginning of a new year, but what is New Years? The date of January 1 is an arbitrary one. So what makes it new? Nothing really. The only thing that makes New Year’s new, or for that matter any month, week, or day new, is the power of God. For God is the one who, in Revelation says, “I am making all things new”. Only God has the power of new beginnings. It’s not the morning that makes things new, but His mercies which are new every morning. Do you want this to be a truly new year? Then don’t expect it to be new simply because it’s called a new year. It won’t be new on its own. If you want it to be a new year, resolve to walk in the power of the Lord’s newness. For those who are led by His Spirit are given the power to walk in the newness of life. Commit yourself to walk in His Spirit, in the power of His newness, and you will have a truly new year , and a year of newness.

TODAY'S MISSION - Today, commit yourself to walking in His Spirit of newness.

The Power Of The Lamb Rabbi Cahn's Sapphires

Here in the West, we begin the new year in January. But the biblical new year wasn’t in January, nor was it in September as many think. It came with the Hebrew month of Nisan in the spring. Nisan was the month of the Passover redemption from Egypt, slavery, bondage, and of the rebirth of the nation to God – all through the blood of the Lamb. Nisan is also the month of Messiah’s redemption. It’s the month He gave His life. It’s the month of His death and resurrection; when the Lamb of God died to make all things new. That’s the real new beginning. So the power of new years and new beginnings does not come from a calendar, it comes from the Lamb. So if you want a new beginning, you’ll only find it in the Lamb. Come to the cleansing mercy of the Lamb. Come back to your first love and be made new. For there, all things are made new. The true renewal of God for new days, walks, lives, hearts, and even New Years only comes by the power of the Lamb.
From Message #1098 - The Lamb of New Beginnings
Scripture: John 1:36
TODAY'S MISSION - Today, receive the power of complete cleansing and newness in the Lamb of God and live as if all things were new.

Our God Is Everything We Need Him To Be...

As we enter 2018, let us remember how amazing Abba Father has been to us.  I call Him Abba Father because of that close relationship I have with Him.  Have you ever noticed when you read your Bible that Yeshua/Jesus calls God, Father? That is because He has a close, personal relationship with Him. He and The Father are One. We, too, as His children have that close, personal relationship.  Praise Him that we can now go directly to Him as a child would approach a parent.  We go humbly and with great respect...hallowed be Thy Name...we bless His holy name...but we can go.  Hallelujah,πŸ‘†πŸ½πŸ‘†πŸ½πŸ‘†πŸ½πŸ‘†πŸ½.

So, Who is our Abba Father that we bless His name?

✝️ Elohim...the Creator of Heaven and earth, Who was in the beginning.  The God of might and strength. Genesis 1:26

✝️ El Shaddai, the God Almighty of blessings.  The Breasty One Who nourishes and supplies.  He is all-bountiful and all-sufficient.  He is our covering Psalm 91:1

✝️  Adonai, our Lord and Master.  Jehovah, the Completely Self-Existing One.  Omnipresent, revealed Himself to us in Yeshua/Jesus. Exodus 3:1-17

✝️ Jehovah Jireh, the One Who sees our needs and provides for them.  Genesis 22:14

✝️ Jehovah Rapha our Healer.  He sent His Word ...Yeshua/Jesus and healed us.  He forgave our iniquities and healed our diseases.  Exodus 15:23-26

✝️ Jehovah M’Kaddesh.  He is our Sanctifier.  He has set us apart ...from the world...for Himself. Leviticus 20:7,8

✝️ Jehovah Nissi.  He is our Victory, our Banner, our Standard.  His banner over us is Love.  When Satan comes in like a flood to overtake us, Jehovah lifts up a standard against him. Exodus 17:15

✝️  Jehovah Shalom.  He is our Peace which surpasses all understanding and guards our heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Judges 6:24

✝️  Jehovah Tsidkenu.  Our Righteousness.  He became sin for us so that we could become the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.  Jeremiah 23:5,6

✝️  Jehovah Rohi.  He is our Shepherd and we will not want for any good or beneficial thing. Psalm 23:1

✝️  Jehovah Shammah.  The One Who will never leave or forsake us.  we should take comfort in this.  He is our Helper.  Ezekiel 48:35

✝️  He is El-Elyon.  The Most High God.  He is Everlasting; He is the Great I AM.  The living God, the merciful God, the faithful God, the mighty God.  He is Truth, Justice, Righteous and Perfection.  He is SOVEREIGN.  Genesis 14:19,22

So you see, all you ever need is in Him, Abba Father.  Call on Him with every need.  He promised never to leave us or forsake us and He is faithful to perform His Word.
